Metro-Boulot-Dodo Ltd (“MBD”, “we”, “us”) makes this policy available to users of our website, members of our mailing list, audience members (both live and online) and the virtual reality / augmented reality (VR / AR) experiences we create, including but not limited to, Paint to Pixel, Empire Soldiers: A Caribbean Story, Empire Soldiers: A South Asian Story, Mayflower Reflections, and Raddlesham Mumps (collectively, our "VR / AR Experiences").

We promise to use the information we collect about you in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (2018) (GDPR), the Data Protection Act (2018) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR, 2003). We aim to be transparent about how we handle your data, and not do anything you would not reasonably expect.

We collect information when you use our website, join our email mailing list, respond to our surveys, or purchase tickets to our events. Depending on how you engage with us, the information we collect may include your name, postal address, phone number, email address, ticketing history, communication preferences, and access requirements.

We do not collect any information through our VR/AR Experiences. This includes personally identifiable, non-personally identifiable and aggregate information.

The information we collect may be used by us for the following purposes:

  • If you have signed up to our mailing list, we may email you about our projects, services and upcoming events that we think you may be interested in. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link featured in all of our mailing list emails

  • From time to time, we may contact you to ask for feedback on our projects and events to assist with our reporting and analysis for our own needs and those of any funding partners, including Arts Council England

  • As an Arts Council England (ACE) National Portfolio Organisation, we are required to collect and report on our audience demographic and visitor engagement behaviours to support national audience development and strategic planning. We may do this by asking you to complete a survey created by ACE-approved The Audience Agency; this is not mandatory.

  • To administer any donations you make

  • To promote MBD and our projects, for example, by using photographs taken at our events and using quotes from social media

  • To ensure we understand your communication preferences

  • to contact you if there is any important change to your booking or visit

  • to keep a record of the relationship we have with you

  • to process a transaction and carry out completion of a purchase (your personal information and card details may be passed to third party service providers; card details will only be used in this way for the purpose of handling an individual transaction)

  • to inform you about relevant events, services or activities we believe will be of interest, as well as opportunities to support our work as an arts charity (from volunteering to fundraising)

  • to provide a personalised service and ensure the best possible experience when you visit us

  • to administer any donations you may make, including processing Gift Aid

  • to ensure that the information we already hold is accurate and up to date

  • to improve our products, services and information in the future

  • to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and laws
