REALTIME AND 3D ARTIST

35 hours per week  (FTE), 2-year fixed-term contract with potential to extend.

Salary: £25,000 - £31,250

Main purpose of the job: 

The Realtime and 3D Artist role at MBD involves creating various artistic elements for Virtual Reality, Virtual Production, projected content and interactive experiences. This includes the development of characters, environments, lighting, materials, animation, interactivity and blueprint creation. You’ll work closely with the team to solve complex development challenges and bring creative concepts to life. As part of a small team, you will also need to support our skills development and participatory activities.

Key skills:

  • Good knowledge of 3D packages (we use Blender)

  • Good knowledge of Unreal Engine, including blueprints and environmental design

  • Ability to model, texture and rig 3D objects, characters and environments

  • Ability to scale work for use on different platforms, while maintaining quality

  • Ability to get involved in the creative process, and a passion for storytelling

  • Ability to work independently, and adapt to the needs of our projects

  • Ability to communicate with the team

  • Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively

  • Attention to detail

  • An interest in unusual and creative uses for technology

  • A positive attitude, sense of humour, self-discipline and motivation

  • A commitment to treating everyone fairly and with respect, and valuing the importance of different people’s experiences, backgrounds and opinions
